            Cellist Rose Bart began her musical studies at the age of eight in St. Paul, Minnesota.  Ms Bart made her solo debut at age 11 performing Haydn’s Cello Concerto in C major with the Minnesota Sinfonia. Since these formative experiences, Ms Bart continues her life’s exploration and interaction with music. 

            Rose Bart captured top prizes at the New York International Artists Competition, Hellam Young Artist Competition, Atlantic Symphony Concerto Competition, Schubert Club Competition and Thursday Musical Competition. Ms Bart’s solo engagements include performances with the Youth Orchestra of the Americas, Lake Tahoe Festival Orchestra, the Bay Atlantic Symphony, Minnesota Sinfonia, Minneapolis Civic Orchestra and the Minnetonka Symphony Orchestra.  As an orchestral player, Ms Bart has performed with the Charleston Symphony, the Richmond Symphony, the Hartford Symphony, the Washington Heights Chamber Orchestra, the Bay Atlantic Symphony, the Canton Symphony Orchestra, the Firelands Symphony and Opera Philadelphia. Rose Bart was a tenured member of the Virginia Symphony Orchestra until 2022. 

            Ms Bart is devoted to the innovative music of our day and keeping community engagement alive. While in school she performed with the Oberlin Contemporary Ensemble and the AXIOM ensemble at the Juilliard School as well as frequently collaborating with fellow student composers. While at Juilliard, Miss Bart was awarded the prestigious GLUCK fellowship. The fellowship was especially meaningful as it brought music to underprivileged communities while collaborating with all three divisions of the school – music, dance and drama.

            A dedicated pedagogue, Ms Bart has studied string methods extensively through the Suzuki Method and the alternate route to teaching in New Jersey. Ms Bart is currently attaining a Masters in Education and is a licensed teacher of music in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. She has taught extensively throughout the past decades including at the Juilliard School, Oberlin Conservatory of Music, Stockton University and with the Youth Orchestra of the Americas. Today, Ms Bart is a strings specialist in the Atlantic City Public Schools and maintains a private studio in Kennett Square, PA.

Summer Festival appearances include the Lake Tahoe Music Festival, Talcott Mountain Music Festival, Cape May Music Festival, Bowdoin International Music Festival, Manchester Music Festival, Youth Orchestra of the Americas - Chile and Central American tours, and Colorado College Music Festival.

            Rose Bart earned her undergraduate degree from the Oberlin Conservatory and her Master of Music degree from the Juilliard School.  While an undergraduate, Ms Bart was a recipient of the Dean’s Talent Award and the Oberlin Alumni Scholarship.  While at Juilliard, she was awarded the fore-mentioned GLUCK fellowship and CLIMB teaching fellowship.   Additionally, she was the grateful recipient of the Argyll Campbell Rice & Argyll Pryor Rice Scholarship, the Irene Diamond Graduate Fellowship, the Betty & Daniel Bloomfield Fund Scholarship and the Juilliard Scholarship Fund. Her primary teachers have been Darrett Adkins, Amir Eldan, Dmitry Kousov and Peter Howard.

            Today, Ms Bart performs throughout the greater New York/Philadelphia area and enjoys a multi-faceted career performing classical, pop-contemporary, acoustic-folk, and latin-rhythms music.  She can be heard performing with the Bay Atlantic Symphony, Philadelphia Opera, Philadelphia Chamber Orchestra, Ocean City Pops, the Silver Arrow Band and maintains her school affiliations as a private contractor for Oberlin Conservatory and the Juilliard School.
